CPI demands E P Jayarajan’s resignation
Kollam: The CPI, a key ally of the ruling LDF in Kerala, on Thursday demanded the resignation of Industries Minister E P Jayarajan who is facing widespread criticisms for alleged nepotism.
Talking to Mathrubhumi News, CPI Assistant Secretary K Prakash Babu said that the party does not think the controversy has tarnished the image of the CPM-led LDF government in the state. However, those who had committed mistakes should be punished.
The government should initiate necessary action before the matter goes to the court.
All the appointments in the departments handled by the CPI in the government is made with the knowledge of the Chief Minister. But, the government should make it clear if the appointments in the Industries Department are made by intimating the same to the CM, he added.
