Thiruvananthapuram: Finance Minister K N Balagopal said that if the spread of Covid-19 continues like this and the third wave begins, Kerala may have to buy the vaccine. Therefore, the minister told the assembly that the Rs 1000 crore allocated in the budget for the purchase of vaccines is being saved for that purpose.

MLA PC Vishnunath had demanded that the minister should inform the assembly how the allocated Rs 1000 crore is spent, as the centre is providing the vaccine free of cost. Based on this demand, the minister replied.

Vishnunath also raised the issue of the complaints pending before the Assembly Committees since 1991. This is due to the non-cooperation of departments. Speaker M B Rajesh said that the files before the Legislative Committees are the lives of many. He also assured that during this assembly, efforts will be made to settle the pending files.
