COVID tests decrease in Kerala, govt hides reason
Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala has recorded a sharp decline in the number of COVID-19 tests. According to reports, only 50,000 tests were conducted within the last 5 days. At the same time, the health workers complained that drawbacks in recording details and shortage of staff delayed the tests. Meanwhile, the government did not reveal the reason behind the decrease in the tests.
The government has been examining the drawbacks that occurred while recording test details in the private sector. Earlier, the Chief Minister has declared that the decline in tests will be examined. But the tests continued to decline in state.
From Monday onwards, the ICMR website where the test details are recorded has undergone some changes. The staff have reported that they faced many issues to update the details on the new website.
In the last days, over 11,000 RT PCR tests were conducted in the state. Meanwhile, the opposition has alleged that the government increased the tests to foil the anti-government protests in the state.
