Night curfew in Kerala from today; self-declaration mandatory for all journeys after 10 pm

Thiruvananthapuram: The statewide night curfew announced by the government in view of the surge in COVID-19 cases will come into effect from Thursday. The curfew will be imposed from 10 pm to 5 am till January 2. Those who are going out for urgent requirements after 10 pm must carry a self-declaration on their purpose for venturing out.

The events organised at worship centres and other public places will also be subjected to restrictions.

The Department of Disaster Management said no public gatherings, including religious, community, political, cultural and social gatherings, including in churches and other public places, would be allowed from 10 pm to 5 am.

Shops must close by 10 p.m. Unnecessary travel will not be allowed. Vehicle inspection will be strengthened. New Year's celebrations are not allowed after 10 pm. Restrictions will be in place at beaches, shopping malls and public parks.
