COVID resistance: Police to carry out special drive in coastal areas
Thiruvananthapuram: The police will carry out a special drive as part of reducing COVID-19 transmission rate in the coastal areas, informed South Zone DIG K Sanjay Kumar. The decision was taken as the disease transmission is increasing in the state capital district, he added.
The rural police have strengthened observation and caution in the city and other places where disease transmission is too intense. The special drive has been planned in the coming days under the supervision of the rural police as part of this, the DIG made it clear.
Special drive will take place from 10 am to 5 pm. Police officers of various ranks ranging from CPO to DIG will be part of the special drive. It will be carried out more strictly in the coming days, he informed.
As part of the move, a special drive was conducted in Balaramapuram, Kanjiramkulam, Poovar, Kadinamkulam, Anchuthengu and Varkala areas under the leadership of DIG Sanjay Kumar on Friday. He directly inspected the functioning of all check posts and monitored procedures in the containment zones.
