Covid relaxation: TVM airport sees boom in domestic passengers

Thiruvananthapuram: The daily number of passengers travelling through Thiruvananthapuram International Airport has doubled in the last six months, thanks to the relaxation in Covid-19 restrictions. 1.31 lakh people have travelled to various locations inside the country from the TVM airport. It is worth noting that 60,145 people used air services only in October 2021.

There was a steady increase in passengers between 84,048 passengers in November 2021 to 97,633 in March 2022.

Number of passengers in recent months from TVM airport: 1,04,771- Dec,2022; 67,019-Jan,2022; 54,096-Feb,2022.

Currently, Indigo, Air India, Spice Jet and Vistara Airways are conducting services to Kochi, Kannur, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune, Mumbai, Durgapur and New Delhi from TVM. Bengaluru is the most travelled destination with 35 services operating every week. Meanwhile, Indigo is conducting 98 services, the most among the airline companies.
