Covid deaths find place in official list after months

Thiruvananthapuram: After reporting of the Covid fatalities became controversial, the deaths left out from the Covid death data will be included in the list. 93 Covid deaths for the past 10 days from June 30 has been included in the list.

The death of a man from Ernakulam was included in the Covid death data after 75 days. A 64-year-old man who died on April 19 was included in the list on July 2.

Health department officials informed that these deaths were not mentioned in the list due to lack of clarity in medical documents or want of more examinations.

The June 30 list has mentioned the wrong age of a 63-year-old woman from Kozhikode. Her date of birth was mentioned as 1900 January in the list. The deaths in April is also included in this.

Missing deaths will be included within 3 days

Pathanamthitta : Health minister Veena George said that all complaints will be examined and discrepancies regarding non-inclusion of Covid deaths in the official Covid death list will be resolved. Deaths that were recorded as Covid deaths will be included in the list within 3 days.

The government is firm to make the system transparent and grievances will be addressed at the DMO level. Individual complaints regarding non-inclusion of Covid deaths in the official list would be addressed.

Deaths that occurred after June 16 should be included in the list within 24 hours. Directions have been given to re-examine Covid deaths if there are any doubts.
