COVID Brigade to be formed to control disease transmission
Thiruvananthapuram: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that a COVID Brigade will be formed in order to empower the COVID resistance activities. The brigade will include doctors, nurses, other healthcare workers and volunteers. Also, contract staff will be part of the brigade.
All of them will get health insurance coverage. The service of more people is required for COVID resistance. An integrated action plan is designed for this purpose, the chief minister stated in a press conference here.
Apart from the employees of the health department, more staff will be appointed on contract basis including in the National Health Mission (NHM). All of them will get insurance coverage and will be provided incentives.
Action will be taken to ensure timely payment of the employees in NHM. The temporary staff also will be ensured income according to the present status, the chief minister said.
The local bodies should arrange accommodation for the health workers. The COVID Brigade will function focusing on the First-Line Treatment Centres, he added.
The students who volunteer for COVID resistance activities will get a certificate of appreciation. All kind-hearted people should come forward to help with the activities of COVID Brigade, the chief minister urged.
