Thiruvananthapuram: A review meeting under CM Pinarayi Vijayan agreed to close schools and colleges for 15 days if the attendance of students remain below 40 per cent for three days consecutively. It has been decided to consider such institutions as clusters and conduct online classes thereafter.
The A, B, C categorisations adopted to classify the districts according to Covid spread in the state will come into force from Tuesday. The meeting also inferred that the Covid cases and patients admitted to hospitals are rapidly increasing in Kerala. CM directed to administer Covid tests in maximum laboratories.
Category C
Thiruvananthapuram: No public functions are allowed. Religious ceremonies should be conducted online. Maximum 20 people can attend marriage functions and funerals in the district. Theatres, swimming pools and gyms will remain closed. Only classes of 10, 12, final year graduation and post-graduation can be conducted directly.
Category B
Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Idukki, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Wayanad: Public ceremonies are not allowed in Category B districts also. People can attend religious services online. 20 people are allowed to participate in marriages and funerals.
Category A
Kottayam, Malappuram, Kannur: All cultural, political, religious programmes, marriages and funerals can be conducted with the participation of a maximum 50 persons.
Kozhikode and Kasaragod are not included in any categories. However, district authorities will impose reasonable restrictions.
