Veena George

Thiruvananthapuram: In the wake of surging Covid 19 cases in the state, Health Minister Veena George declared new guidelines for the public and private institutions here.

If more than 10 persons are infected in an office, it will be referred as a large cluster and the institute can be closed if five clusters are reported there. It shall be finalised with the advice of the regional health care officials.

The institutions shall be opened if possible. A cluster is considered to be formed when two persons in an institute or office test positive for Covid within 7 days. The Infection Control Team in the office has to identify those who come in contact with the infected persons and bring them under observation. The team has to ensure that the employees are not having food together.
