However, she added that everyone who were in contact with Azeez should remain in self-quarantine and treatment should be sought if there is any health issue.

Thiruvananthapuram: Health Minister K K Shailaja said that Abdul Azeez, the second victim of coronavirus in Kerala, caught the disease through contact. He had close contact with gulf returnees and more details on it is being collected from relatives, she added.

“Azeez was under observation since March first week as he showed symptoms. Hence if there was a large scale community transmission, it would have been known by now. At present there is no situation to panic,” minister said.

However, she added that everyone who were in contact with Azeez should remain in self-quarantine and treatment should be sought if there is any health issue.

Both the persons who died of COVID-19 in Kerala, were heart patients and suffering from other diseases. All possible measures were taken in their treatment and care, she further said.
