Thiruvananthapuram: The first lockdown-like restrictions in the 'third wave' of the Covid-19 spread in Kerala will be enforced on Sunday. The one-day long control will continue next Sunday as well.
Police, like before, is tasked with ensuring the implementation of the restrictions. The decisions were taken in the review committee meeting held on Thursday.
Relaxations on essential travels:
Maximum 20 people are allowed in marriages and funerals
Workshops are allowed to open for emergency vehicle repairs
Tourists are allowed to travel with stay vouchers of hotel/resort
Workers are allowed to travel to the office with company ID cards
Travel to exam centres are allowed with hall tickets
Long-distance travellers are allowed to travel with bus/train/flight tickets
Shops open from 7 am to 9 pm
Restaurants and bakeries (parcel only)
Shops selling groceries, vegetables and fruits, milk and milk products, meat and toddy
Courier and e-commerce
PSC exams postponed
State PSC exams scheduled for January 23 and 30 are postponed due to the lockdown. Exam for receptionist in medical education rescheduled to January 27. The laboratory technician grade-II exam will be held on January 28. Water authority operator exam postponed to February 4.
Trains cancelled
The Southern Railway has informed that the following trains stand cancelled till the next order due to the spread of Covid-19.
