COVID-19: Strict vigil necessary in Thiruvananthapuram, says Kadakampally Surendran


More tests will be conducted at the Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC) where staff tested positive for the virus, the Devaswom Minister said.

Thiruvananthapuram: With the COVID-19 test results on Thursday, the state capital must exercise strict vigil, said Devaswom Minister Kadakampally Surendran.

The license of shops not adhering to coronavirus protocol will be cancelled. 18 wards have been declared containment zones. More tests will be conducted at the Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC) where staff tested positive for the virus, the Minister said.

The trade sector must follow COVID-19 protocol. Strict monitoring must be implemented at other trade establishments and important shops.

The government had warned earlier of stringent action such as cancelling the license of shops not following COVID-19 protocol, the Minister reminded.
