COVID-19 special team including govt employees, students to be formed: Pinarayi Vijayan
Thiruvananthapram: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan stated that an extensive plan will be prepared to provide the service of more healthcare workers if the COVID-19 transmission in Kerala increases.
The CM said that government employees below the age of 45 years will be recruited and given special training in order to prepare a special team of healthcare workers.
Pinarayi Vijayan also said that those interested among final year Medical students, healthcare professionals who are out of work and retired health professionals will all be part of this special team.
This kind of team is being prepared to deploy more healthcare workers in different districts if the transmission of the virus increases.
The team will be given training with the help of different departments. NCC, SPC and NSS volunteers will also be included in this team. CM added that interested youths and volunteers in NGOs can also be a part of the initiative.
All those who become a part of COVID-19 prevention activities deserve appreciation, the CM said.
Pinarayi Vijayan stated that temporary non-governmental staff, healthcare workers, police, fire and rescue service personnel and others who had to make sacrifices to prevent the pandemic deserve appreciation and should be encouraged.
