Thiruvananthapuram: Under the extraordinary circumstances the state is going through at present, PSC has sanctioned appointments to various posts in the health department. The letters to appoint 276 assistant surgeons has been handed over to the department head.
Also instructions have been given to speed up the appointment of 346 Junior health inspectors under Municipal common services. Recommendations to the post of junior lab assistants (25 vacancies) in medical colleges and grade- 2 radiographers will also be made soon. Instructions have been given to prepare the rank list of grade- 2 lab technicians in the health department as soon as possible by cancelling the interview process. District officers have been given the responsibility of handing over the appointment letters of those candidates in the rank list, whose documents have not been verified, as soon as they submit the documents concerned.
The appointments letters to the post of assistant surgeons have been handed over to the department by including the phone numbers along with the postal address of the applicants. It will be sent via post as direct handing over of appointment letters has been stopped. The news regarding the appointment has been conveyed via a message to the applicant’s phone number.
Considering the emergency situation, the PSC meeting was convened on Monday with only the officials who were available in the city. Out of the 16 members, only six, including the chairman, took part in the meeting.
