COVID-19 patient who was injured after jackfruit fall recover
Pariyaram: The man who tested positive for COVID-19 and who suffered injuries when a jackfruit fell on his head recovered from the disease. The 43-year-old Kasaragod native was under treatment in Kannur medical college.
He tested positive for COVID-19 when his sample was collected prior to the surgery for the treatment of injuries which he suffered during the accident. Later, he continued his treatment for the injuries and COVID-19 at the medical college here.
The man met with the accident on May 19 and taken to Kanhangad district hospital. Observing his critical condition, the doctors referred to Kannur medical college. He suffered a spine injury and his limbs were paralysed. As he is a native of Kasaragod, his sample was collected for COVID-19 test.
After the patient tested positive for COVID-19, health workers at Kannur medical college were quarantined immediately. All these health workers turned negative for COVID-19.
Sources revealed that the injured man who is under treatment tested negative in the last two tests.
He was shifted to neurosurgery ICU from COVID isolation ICU.
