Covid-19: Kozhikode Palayam market to be closed down for a week
Kozhikode: The Palayam market in the district will be closed down for a week after 232 tested positive for Covid-19 in the antigen test conducted on Wednesday. District Collector issued an order for the market to be shut from September 24 to 30.
Public and vendors will not be allowed to enter the market. Police have been instructed to strictly implement the Covid restrictions. Quick Response Team under Deputy Tahsildar has been deployed at the market.
The vehicles carrying fruits and vegetables to the market are instructed to distribute them at the agricultural market at Thadambattuthazham.
Disinfection will be carried out before opening the market. Covid test will be conducted and only those who test negative will be allowed to enter when opened. All vendors and labourers at the market have been instructed to register at Jagratha portal. Collector also instructed to conduct Covid test once a week at the market.
On Wednesday alone, 442 tested positive for Covid-19 in the corporation limit. And on Thursday, 105 have tested positive for Covid-19 in corporation limit.
