COVID: Kerala may lift mask rule slowly

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala is mulling to make face masks voluntary as the state has been witnessing a steady decrease in the daily COVID cases.

More relaxations in public and private events are also expected in the next meeting of the COVID review committee.

However, the state may require the assent of the union government on making masks voluntary.

Kerala on Tuesday reported 1,193 new Covid-19 cases. The test positivity has been remaining below 5 per cent for the past few days.
