Thiruvananthapuram: In the wake of the decline in the daily cases of Covid-19, the Kerala government has decided to end the Sunday lockdown in the state.

The one-day lockdown to mitigate the spread of the third wave allowed only emergency services to be operated.

The test positivity rate has come down to 28 per cent. Kerala recorded 22,524 new cases on Monday. The state hopes the numbers will fall further in the coming days.

The schools and colleges have been reopened after closing for a short while. Classes will continue till evening.
