COVID-19: Kasaragod enters complete lockdown
Thiruvananthapuram: In view of the increasing number of COVID-19 cases, a lockdown has been imposed in Kasaragod.
Chief secretary Tom Jose has directed the district collector and district police chief to impose the restrictions. Essential services and shops selling such items and fueling stations can remain open.
Public transport vehicles will not be allowed to enter or exit the district. There will be restrictions on private vehicles also. People will not be allowed to travel to other districts.
Public will be allowed outside only to buy essential items. There will be restrictions on shops being kept open.
Earlier, the chief minister’s office had clarified that steps will be taken to impose more restrictions in Kasaragod considering the special situation of the district.
