COVID-19 case confirmed; complete lockdown in Anadu panchayat for one week
Thiruvananthapuram: A complete lockdown has been enforced in Anadu panchayat in the district for one week. A 33-year-old from the area was confirmed with COVID-19 the other day. The decision was taken following this.
It is reported that he had travelled to Tamil Nadu on May 27. A painter by profession, he had consumed alcohol with three of his friends on May 28 and was admitted to the Nedumangad District Hospital due to vomiting.
He was shifted to the Medical College due to suspicion after the primary medical test. He was confirmed with the virus when his results came out on Sunday. Healthcare authorities said that his contact tracing has started.
The doctors and staff who interacted with him at the Nedumangad hospital while he was admitted there, have been quarantined.
Details on how he contracted the disease, possibility of community spread etc are being investigated.
