Thiruvananthapuram: BJP state president K Surendran on Monday announced that all public events of the party will be postponed for two weeks from January 17 onwards.

He added that the high test positivity rate (TPR) in Covid-19 surveillance in Kerala is the reason for postponing the programs.

K Surendran suggested that the party workers should follow Covid-19 protocol and host other events accordingly. Protest gatherings against Popular Front scheduled for January 17 and 18 are also postponed, he added.

A case was registered against Surendran and 1,500 others for organising a programme violating the regulations on Monday at Kozhikode.
