Court rejects petition of university college case accused seeking prison transfer


Court observed that the demand of the petitioners was strange. Meanwhile, the court extended the remand term of the accused till August 12.

Thiruvananthapuram: Court rejected the petition of six accused in the Thiruvananthapuram University College stabbing case seeking to transfer them to the central prison from district jail.

The petitioners had demanded a transfer citing increasing cases of disease outbreaks in the district prison. However, the court rejected the petition and said that the jail officials will take care of the accused it they fall sick.

The court observed that the demand of the petitioners was strange. Meanwhile, the court extended the remand term of the accused till August 12.
