Visuals of the brawl happened at Kattakkada
Thiruvananthapuram: The additional sessions court here on Friday rejected the anticipatory bail plea of the KSRTC employees accused of physically assaulting a man in front of his daughter at Kattakkada KSRTC depot. Five KSRTC employees are named as accused in the case.
During the hearing, the prosecution argued that granting bail to the accused will give a wrong message to society. The prosecution counsel also pointed out that the government staff who attacked a man in front of his daughter don't deserve bail in the case.
Bus conductor N Anil Kumar, station master A Muhammad Shereef, security guard SR Suresh and assistant CP Milan are named as accused in the case Rejecting their plea, the court also approved the prosecution's request seeking custody of the accused for a detailed examination of the visuals and voice in the viral video of the attack.
It is learnt that all the accused in the case are trade union leaders.
Premanan, a staff of Poovachal Grama Panchayat, and his daughter Reshma, a second-year degree student were manhandled by the KSRTC staff when they approached the depot seeking a student concession card.
After the visuals of the incident came out, Transport minister Antony Raju suspended the employees involved in the attack.
