Court orders to release actor Dileep’s passport
Kochi: Ernakulam Principal Sessions Court on Thursday issued an order to temporarily release the passport of actor Dileep who is an accused in actress abduction case. Dileep’s lawyer informed the court that passport is mandatory to get work visa for Dileep. The court pronounced the verdict after approving this argument.
Dileep’s passport was surrendered in the court after he was booked in actress abduction case. Recently, he approached the court requesting to release the passport to travel abroad.
Dileep requested to release his passport in order to fly to Frankfurt in Germany for the shooting of an upcoming movie. His trip is scheduled from December 15 to January 30. Dileep explained that his trip is necessary to complete the film which has locations in Kerala and abroad.
Meanwhile, prosecution strongly objected to release the passport and alleged that the actor requested the passport as a part of a plot to delay the hearing in the case. At the same time, the actor has not mentioned details of his trip including his companions, accommodation etc. in the petition.
Prosecution observed that such trip may be planned to influence the witnesses in the case as most of the witnesses are from film industry. However, Dileep’s lawyer requested the court to give permission for visa processing and informed that the actor is ready to accept any condition.
