Thiruvalla: The Judicial First Class Magistrate here ordered police to register a case against KT Jaleel on his controversial statements on Kashmir. The order was given on the petition filed by RSS activist Arun Mohan.

The petitioner argued that the phrases ‘Azad Kashmir’ and ‘Indian Occupied Kashmir’ in Jaleel’s Facebook post are against the national interest and are ‘anti-national’. He requested the court to register a case on grounds of IPC 153 B and Section 2 of Insult to National Honour Act in 1971.

Though he approached the police, the latter declined to register a case against Jaleel, petitioner informed the court.

Jaleel had withdrawn the comments later.
