Court observes deliberate move to delay trial
Kochi: The Ernakulam Sessions Court observed that the accused are deliberately trying to delay the trial process in the actress attack case. The accused are trying to postpone the trial by registering different pleas citing various demands.
The court made these observations while rejecting the petition submitted by advocates Pratheesh Chacko and Raju Joseph, former lawyers of the main accused Pulsar Suni.
Pratheesh and Raju are booked for destroying the mobile phone that captured the visuals of the attack. It was found that Pulsar Suni had handed over the mobile phone to the lawyers.
The Court said that there are enough evidences to proceed on the trial against them.
Following this, the court also stated the importance of closing the case soon. All the important documents related to the case were given to the accused earlier itself. But they are approaching the court repeatedly with demands for other documents. This is creating a hindrance in fixing dates for their trials.
At the same time, Dileep’s plea demanding the visuals of the attack is under consideration of high court. Dileep had approached the high court after his plea was rejected by the sessions court.
