Kasaragod: The court granted permission to charge case against BJP state president K Surendran in connection with the revelation of K Sundara that he was offered money to withdraw his nomination in the assembly election.

Kasaragod Judicial First Class Court issued the order on the basis of the complaint filed by LDF candidate in Manjeshwaram constituency VV Rameshan.

The court made it clear that the procedures to register as per IPC 117-b can be continued. However, Surendran should not be arrested without warrant, it added.

V V Rameshan had lodged a complaint with the district police chief demanding a probe soon after Sundara revealed that he was granted money to withdraw nomination.

Badiyadka police initiated probe into the case. However, VV Rameshan approached the court as there was a technical hindrance to register case against him.
