Kochi: A special National Investigation Agency (NIA) court here on Wednesday rejected NIA’s plea seeking to cancel the bail granted to Alan Shuhaib in Pantheerankavu UAPA case. However, the court warned Shuhaib not to pursue any illegal activities. NIA approached the court to cancel his bail in connection with an alleged ragging incident at Palayad Campus.

According to the complaint lodged by SFI, Alan and his team ragged an SFI worker Adin Subi, a first-year student. Police registered a case and arrested Alan. He was later released on bail. Following this only, the central agency claimed before the court that Shuhaib violated bail conditions.

Meanwhile, a report compiled by the anti-ragging committee of Kannur University had given a clean chit to Alan Shuhaib on an alleged ragging incident at Palayad Campus. The new development comes at this juncture.
