Thamarassery: An elderly couple returning from the hospital lodged a complaint against the KSRTC staff for refusing to stop the bus at their preferred location. As per the complainant, the KSRTC bus driver refused to stop at the bus stop and travelled almost 3 km before making the next stop.

The incident happened near Thamarassery on Thursday morning. The complainant, Abdul Latheef (58) and Laila Latheef (51), boarded a Kozhikode-Sultan Bathery bus to Parappanpoyil.

Abdul Latheef was returning from Vellor CMC hospital after receiving treatment for heart-related ailments. The couple also informed the conductor they needed to alight at Parappanpoyil. However, the driver didn't stop the bus despite the conductor ringing the bell several times.

Eventually, the couple alighted from the bus after it stopped 3 km away at Thamarassery old stand. Laila pointed out that the staff ignored a recent order issued by KSRTC allowing women, differently-abled and senior citizen passengers to stop the bus at places as per their request from 8 pm to 6 am.

Following this, the couple filed a complaint before the Thamarassery police and legal cell.
