KSRTC bus-car collision in Thrissur leaves three dead; Man caught stealing victim's chain

Thrissur: Three people lost their lives in a tragic accident that occurred on Sunday morning in Thalikulam, Thrissur when a KSRTC bus collided with a car. Four other passengers sustained severe injuries and were immediately rushed to a nearby private hospital for treatment.

The deceased are Paravur natives Padmanabhan (82) and his wife Parukutty (76) and their granddaughter Abhirami. Among the injured are the Padmanabhan-Parukutty couple's son Shiju and his wife Sreeja. A passenger on the bus was also injured.

Reports said a theft happened in the middle of the tragedy. A person named Sabu, hailing from Kanjany allegedly tried to steal victim Sreeja's chain. However, onlookers witnessed the attempt and handed over him to the police.

The accident occurred around 7 am when Padmanabhan's family was on their way to Guruvayur Sree Krishna temple. Padmanabhan and Parukutty died in the morning, while Abhirami succumbed by 3 pm.
