Bribery case 2nd accused takes charge in Pollution Control Board

Thiruvananthapuram: A Pollution Control Board official, who was on the run after a bribery case worth crores, made a dramatic comeback to service. The second accused Jose Mon took charge in the Kozhikode office after obtaining a transfer from the Thiruvananthapuram office.

Jose Mon was the senior engineer at Thiruvananthapuram head office of the Pollution Control Board. He had allegedly acquired money through bribery when he was working in Kottayam. Information regarding this surfaced when Vigilance conducted an inspection at the office of the Pollution Control Board and following this, a report was submitted to the High Court. Meanwhile, Jose Mon entered the service again.

Pollution Control Board justified that it has not received the Vigilance report against Jose Mon yet. AB Pradeep, chairman of the Pollution Control Board informed Mathrubhumi News that the transfer of Jose Mon was official inorder to fill vacancies in the offices under Board.

Jose Mon, who was the Senior Environmental Engineer, was demoted as the Environmental Engineer in the Kozhikode office, said the chairman. Jose Mon had sought permission from the chairman before taking charge in the new post. The main accused in the bribery case MM Haris is in jail now.
