Corona outbreak: Devotees cannot have darshan at Sabarimala
Pathanamthitta: As Travancore Devaswom Board has requested the devotees not to visit the Sabarimala temple in the backdrop of the Coronavirus outbreak, the temple will again go through a rare situation. No devotees will be allowed to have darshan at the temple even when it is open for monthly puja.
The shrine is to open on Friday for the monthly rituals in the Malayalam month of Meenam. The board does not expect any devotees to visit the temple under the present circumstances.
In 2018, the devotees were not allowed to travel to Sannidhanam on August 14 for Niraputhari ritual when Pamba was overflowing. Tantri Kandararu Maheswararu Mohanaru had brought the bunch of paddy via Vandiperiyar-Pullumedu route.
Also the devotees could not visit the temple for monthly rituals in Chingam on August 15 when the flood havoc hit the state. The paths on Pamba were destroyed in the flood then.
