Controversies should not hurt sentiments of people, says PK Kunhalikutty
Malappuram: Muslim league leader PK Kunhalikutty, responding to the article written by CPM general secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan on the opposition using Quran to target the government, said the government is trying to make a controversy in order to escape from the case and it will not help them.
“Many religious leaders have reacted on social media regarding the Quran issue. Nobody likes it and it has hurt the feelings of the devotees. Each devotee has the right to carry and distribute their respective religious text in the state. It is not a freedom granted by the LDF government. There is no point in making it a controversy to escape from the case. The allegation that we are raising is different. The government should respond to that. Instead of hurting the religious sentiments of the devotees, the government should step aside and let the investigation progress” he said.
He also added that BJP has many agendas under the current context and those creating the controversy are the ones helping BJP to exploit the issue. Kunhalikutty informed that UDF will hold a meeting in Thiruvananthapuram on Friday to discuss the issue.
