Kozhikode: The voice of T P Chandrashekaran who stood for democratic values should resonate in the assembly and I am contesting the elections for that, said Vadakara RMP candidate and TP’s wife K K Rema. My candidature is the revenge for the murder of my husband, she told Mathrubhumi News.
K K Rema said that the Left party which has a tie-up with the Congress across the country is not entitled to raise objections in the state. On the delay in declaring her candidature in Vadakara, Rema said it was because of the confusion within RMP due to her lack of interest shown to contest. She also asserted that a new history will be created in Vadakara.
A secular democratic union is the need of the hour to fight against religious fascism that is enveloping the country. Seeking UDF backing in Kerala is to fight against Pinarayi Vijayan’s political fascism by bringing together the allied democratic secular parties.
CPM activists protesting on the streets over candidate selection in Kuttiyadi and Ponnani is a victory for democracy. After the bloodshed of TP, Kerala is witnessing another democracy. The RMP is contesting the election to restore democracy, Rema said.
