Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala government directed the police not to stop tourists who have made prior bookings.

Though the government has made it clear that the tourism centres and hotels can work from Monday to Saturday, police have been stopping visitors citing containment zones and other protocols.

As per the current protocol, the tourism sector has no restrictions to work in the containment zones as well.

Earlier, the hotels faced a tough time as their location may become a containment zone based on the TPR suddenly. They had to send the customers home as they had to close the hotel down. Government changed its policy after considering the impracticality.
