Thiruvananthapuram: Swapna Suresh has levelled serious allegations against former Speaker P Sreeramakrishnan in the affidavit filed before the court. The affidavit was filed in the court before she gave a confidential statement.

She pointed out that Sreeramakrishnan requested her to organise a meeting with a Gulf country ruler. She added that she organised a meeting with the ruler as per his request. It was also mentioned that the meeting was held for setting up an educational institution in Gulf.

Further, Swapna alleged that a bribe was given to the UAE Consul general for setting up a meeting with the ruler and acquiring land in the name of Middle East College. The baggage containing the bribe was collected by Sarith and later seized by the customs.

However, customs collected the statement of every party included in the case. However, customs couldn't prove that the money was used as bribe to acquire land. They also failed to find any links that place Sreeramakrishnan in the case.

Meanwhile, Crime Branch has approached the court demanding a copy of the confidential statement and the affidavit given by Swapna before the court.
