Congress to raise land issues in Idukki district ahead of LSG polls
Idukki: Congress party will organise protests across the state on Saturday against the various land issues in Idukki district.
Congress is planning to make land issues more relevant in the state as the LSG polls are fast approaching. The party will launch protests demanding the amendment of the Land Assignment Act.
Congress alleged that the government sabotaged the decisions that were taken on land issues at the all-party meeting and that the rights given to the title-deed owners of all the other districts were not given to the people of Idukki.
Idukki DCC president, Ibrahimkutty Kallar, said that the Land Assignment Act of 1993 and 1964 should be amended and actions should be taken in this regard on a war-footing. He also said that protests will continue until action is taken.
Congress leaders had held a strike in front of the secretariat in this regard the other day.
