Congress reorganisation in Kerala: 50% reserved for new faces

Thiruvananthapuram: The reorganisation of Congress in the state is likely to embrace new changes this year. As per the party directive, the existing block-level and unit-level presidents should be replaced with new faces. An exception will be only given to those who got appointed last year, particularly based on their performance. Even exceptions will be given only if necessary.

Only full-timers in the party will be considered for the block president post.

50 percent of DCC office-bearers, executive members and block presidents should be reserved for new faces. They should be below 50 years.

In large districts, DCC will have 35 office-bearers, which includes six vice presidents, 28 secretaries and one treasurer. In that, one of the presidents should be a woman and the other should be from SC/ST community. Similarly, there should be at least six women among the office-bearers, including those from SC/ST community. It will have a 36-member executive committee.
