V Prathapachandran

Thiruvananthapuram: Veteran Congress leader and KPCC treasurer V Prathapachandran passed away at the age of 73. He died at his residence ‘Ambujavilasam’ in Vanchiyoor on Tuesday morning.

Prathapachandran was son of former KPCC president and minister S Varadha Rajan and grandson of Diwan Rajagopalachari.

He had pursued careers as journalist, teacher and lawyer. He had served as Thiruvananthapuram bureau chief of Veekshanam, state president of Senior Journalist Forum and the secretary of Press Club, Thiruvananthapuram.

The mortal remains will be kept for homage at his residence till 10.30 am on Wednesday and later shifted to the Bar Association Hall. The body will be taken to KPCC headquarters at 11 am and Thiruvananthapuram Press Club at 12 pm to pay homage. The funeral will be held at 2 pm in Puthencottah crematorium in Manacaud.
