Congress gears up for Assembly polls; to decide on campaign committee chairman soon

The Congress High Commands wants someone who is popular across the state to head the campaign activities.

New Delhi: Congress is gearing up for the Assembly elections in Kerala. The party will soon decide the campaign committee chairman for the election. Congress leaders like Oommen Chandy, K Sudhakaran and K Muraleedharan are being considered by the High Command for the post.

The Congress High Command has initiated talks with Kerala leaders in Delhi in this regard. The High Command wants someone who is popular across the state to head the campaign activities.

There are also discussions related to changing DCC Chiefs of Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Alappuzha, Pathanamthitta, Kottayam districts. The performance of DCC Chiefs in these districts have not been satisfactory to the top leadership.

Along with this, removal of TJ Vinod in Ernakulam, VK Sreekantan in Palakkad and IC Balakrishnan in Wayanad is also being considered as they hold multiple positions. It is reported that a discussion regarding this will be taken by January first week.
