Thiruvananthapuram: The KPCC has decided to rectify its action after several complaints surfaced regarding the fund collected by the organisation. The organisation has decided to abandon the direct payment method. The amount to be collected as part of the ‘Rs 138 challenge’ this year will be accepted through a special app.

The ‘Congress’ app will be made available on Play Store and App Store. An eight-member committee headed by VT Balram has been appointed to supervise the process.

The organisation began the ‘Rs 137 challenge’ last year to find funds for the working of the party by directly working on party activists and supporters. According to the KPCC, even though they received support from the masses, transparency could not be ensured.

Although no money was lost, information of several individuals, who contributed small amounts, was not collected. Considering this, the Congress has decided to accept money and provide receipts through the app.
