Thiruvananthapuram: Ramesh Chennithala and Oommen Chandy had publicly expressed their discontent in the selection of DCC presidents. No effective discussion took place prior to the selection process, alleged the senior leaders.
They also claimed that such an unpleasant situation would not have occurred if discussions were held properly.
Oommen Chandy also pointed out that several discussions used to take place before party reorganisation in Kerala. Hence the leaders could support or refute the opinions and this made the selection process easier for the high command.
Currently, the involvement of high command could have been minimised if effective discussions were conducted to finalise the selection of DCC presidents. Oommen Chandy also expressed his resentment in dragging his name into the issue.
He also refuted the allegations of conspiracy behind the selection of the presidents in Idukki and Kottayam DCCs. He had given a complaint to high command regarding this.
