Thiruvananthapuram: A Congress national leader who is in Kerala as part of the Bharat Jodo Yatra of Rahul Gandhi was amazed to see so many ambulances on the roads. Gaurav Pandhi, a New Delhi-based politician and social media in-charge of Congress tweeted that he hope "no emergency situation around". Quickly, Kerala Twitterverse lectured him about the state of emergency response in Kerala.

Nidheesh MK, a journalist, quoting the tweet, mentioned that the rate of response to emergency calls in Kerala is very high. In his tweet titled "The discovery of Kerala," he shared a screenshot of a study titled "Medical Emergency Response Services in the State of Kerala—Evaluation Report, April 2019" in which the authors talk about the situation.

Pandhi got slammed by the Left supporters for the tweet.

"Standards of Healthcare in Kerala are high"

Pandhi also praised Congress workers for giving way for ambulances.

"I am glad and thankful to Yatris, Congress workers, supporters as not even once a single ambulance was stuck anywhere. Yet, I am curious. 40-50 ambulances in 6-7 hours is not normal. The Govt must share what is happening. Meanwhile, we are praying for everyone's safety."

Meanwhile, some Congressmen felt it might be a ploy to defame the Yatra if any ambulance gets stuck.
