Conflicts continue in Malappuram, Kannur, Pathanamthitta
Kannur/Kozhikode/Adoor: Ruckus continue in Kannur, Pathanamthitta and Kozhikode following hartal. Bomb was hurled at CPM leaders’ houses at Perambra in Kozhikode and Adoor in Pathanamthitta. The house of a BJP activist was destroyed at Chelari in Malappuram.
CPM activist VK Visakh was hacked at Iritty in Kannur on Friday. He is currently under treatment. The house of RSS Vibhag Sanghchalak Chandrasekharan at Kolakkott was also attacked. The attacks continued at night and the houses of MLA AN Shamseer, V Muraleedharan MP and CPM leader P Sasi were attacked.
Bomb was hurled at the house of CPM leader Radhakrishnan at Perambra. Though he and his family were at home, none of them were injured. Bomb attack also occurred at CPM Area Committee member Raveendran's house at Adoor. An attack also occurred at house of BJP zonal president Anil at Enathu.
A barber shop of BJP activist at Chelari in Malappuram was vandalized. The attackers entered the shop by breaking lock and destroyed everything including AC.
Prohibitory order has been issued at Adoor for three days. Police personnel from AR camp and CRPF were deployed in Kannur. The police officers gone in leave were asked rejoin service. 34 people in Kannur are under preventive custody. 260 people from Kannur and 110 from Pathanamthitta were arrested.
