Adoor: In a bizarre incident, a KSRTC bus covered a stretch of 18 km without conductor as the person deboarded the bus for relieving himself, amid which a passenger gave the 'double bell' (signal to continue the trip) to the driver.
The incident happened on Monday morning in the KSRTC service from Thiruvananthapuram to Moolamattom.
When the bus reached Kottarakkara, the conductor had deboarded the bus to relieve himself. In the meantime, a passenger gave the double bell and driver took the vehicle without the knowledge that the conductor was outside.
When the conductor returned to the spot where the bus was parked, he came to know that the bus was gone. He then informed matter to the depot there and the authorities concerned intimated it to Adoor depot.
The bus was halted on Adoor depot and the conductor reached there in another KSRTC bus. It took 45 minutes for the conductor to reach the depot and until then the commuters waited patiently.
