Kannur: CPM leader P Jayarajan stated that Yoga specialist Sri M had mediated the conciliatory talks between CPM and RSS in order to maintain peace in the district and end the political violence. Jayarajan told media that such a meeting has been negatively portrayed as a secret connection between CPM and RSS.

Sri M initiated the conciliatory talks for making a peaceful atmosphere in our place. Religious extremist outfits like Jamaat-e-Islami are spreading negative news on this. An all-party meeting held by the chief minister to end the political clashes in Kannur had decided that conciliatory talks should be initiated between both parties, Jayarajan said.

CPM has difference of opinion with RSS which upholds communal ideologies. It is Congress which takes a soft stand towards RSS. When a rally was held against political violence, Congress DCC president Satheeshan Pacheni, League leader E T Muhammed Basheer and CPM and CPI leaders also had participated, he added.

Earlier, Sri M had revealed to mathrubhumi.com that he had mediated CPM-RSS meeting. CPM former Kannur district secretary reacted to this through Facebook. CPM central committee member M V Govindan had responded earlier that no discussion was held with Sri M as intermediary.
