Kochi: Concerns over the second phase of the Kochi Metro project will be rectified soon, said Ernakulam District Collector Renuraj on Thursday. The collector gave assurances during a meeting convened with senior officials of various government institutions over the acquisition of land for the second phase of the metro.
The second phase of Kochi Metro from Palarivattom to Infopark passes through properties owned by Kerala Media Academy, Kakkanad Children's Home, and Observation home. Collector assured that an alternative system would be adapted to avoid the Metro construction disrupting the classes in Media Academy. Further, the security concerns over construction in the close proximity of the children's home and observation home will be addressed.
Meanwhile, the organisations are directed to submit their demands to Kochi Metro. Following this, a high-level meeting will be convened to address the issues.
The government also has to acquire lands under Kerala Public Work Department, Legal Metrology, Doordarshan, KINFRA, and others.
