Concern over TPR: Centre team asks Kerala to intensify preventive measures
Thiruvananthapuram: The Central team has directed the state government to take strong preventive measures to reduce the high level of test positivity rate (TPR) in the state.
The resistance activities in the cluster and containment zones should be made more efficient. In addition to effective measures to trace the contact cases, the state has also been directed to keep a separate count on the number of vaccinated people who are getting infected.
The recommendation is based on the persistence of the pandemic and the confirmation of the presence of a highly contagious variant virus in health workers who are fully vaccinated.
A team led by Dr. SK Singh, Director of the National Center for Disease Control (NCDC), had visited the affected districts of the state. The team arrived in Thiruvananthapuram on Monday after assessing the situation in each district. The team met with officials including the Chief Secretary.
