Thiruvananthapuram: KSRTC has decided to enforce its two-year-old order on women conductor’s seat, citing rampant complaints on misconduct by men who sit adjacent to them.

According to the order, only woman will be allowed to sit adjacent to the seat designated for the conductor, if the person is a woman.

The posters based on the order are being pasted in buses as part of implementing the norm.

Though KSRTC has cited the move as a measure for security of women conductors, many find it regressive. Also the new arrangement will make male commuters lose one more seat if the conductor is a woman.
